You can’t spend your holidays in Andalusia without relaxing on the beach. La Malagueta beach is one of them and just a few minutes' walk away from the hostel. You can savour espetos de sardinas (typical Malaga-style sardine skewers) there. La Misericordia and Pedregalejo beaches are also well-known. If you visit the latter, don’t forget to try out the famous fried fish platter (pescaíto frito).

Waking up to a view of the Alcazaba or having cocktails on our  hostel’s rooftop terrace after an exciting day are two amazing things to do in Malaga. You can also find the Roman Theatre, Gibralfaro castle and Malaga Cathedral in Renaissance style next to the Arab fortress that gives our luxury hostel its name.

Although our Batik Restaurant will exceed your culinary expectations, you shouldn't leave Malaga without trying the famous wines served at Antigua Casa de Guardia or El Pimpi. El Pimpi is situated just a few metres from the hotel and is one of the places tourists simply have to visit in Malaga. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted with the famous hot chocolate with churros tejeringos served at Casa Aranda.

The hostel is located just a minute's walk away from pubs, clubs and restaurants. Right next to it, you will find the Cinema Albéniz, famous for the Malaga Film Festival. You can also visit the Cervantes and Echegaray Theatres. And after a short walk through the beautiful Paseo del Parque to Muelle Uno in the Port of Malaga, you can treat yourself to something special at select shops and restaurants.

No city is really Andalusian without a traditional bullfighting arena, the so-called Plaza de Toros. People come to Malaga for one of the most important bullfighting events in Spain and the famous Corrida Picassiana, which takes places during Easter Week. The beach promenade at La Malagueta is next to it and named after Malaga’s famous painter Picasso. It offers plenty of places to do exercise, take a walk, enjoy the fresh breeze and gaze at breathtaking sunsets.

MALAGA FAIR

Malaga Fair is one of the most important events held in Malaga, which everybody waits for impatiently. It takes place every August and lasts a week, during which time the city turns into a big party. This is one of the most traditional things to do in Malaga! People dress up and celebrate all day long. When the celebrations in the city centre come to an end, the party carries on for all those who haven’t had enough in a especially prepared for area the occasion, the Recinto Ferial Cortijo de Torres.
